Dear Supporters,
The weeks leading up to today’s Spay Day International have been a success, but we still need your help!
With support from the President of the Municipal Council of Roumieh, Mayor Louis Abi Habib, and Animal House Hospital, BETA has been trapping, neutering and releasing dogs to help control the stray animal population.
On February 10, we set up camp in tents generously donated by the Lebanese Army on land lent by the municipality. Since then, we’ve spent each day & night capturing dogs and taking them back to the tents. In the morning, they arrive at Animal House Hospital, where they’re neutered and their ears are tipped so we don’t trap them again. Because Roumieh strays are considered “community dogs,” they’re then released back to a familiar environment where they’re loved by local residents.
We’ve received encouragement both regionally and across Lebanon, and we will be featured on a local talk show for our work with animal welfare. One important Spay Day goal is to raise compassion and tolerance for stray dogs, and positive feedback indicates this is slowly happening.
But what can you do to help? BETA is run by volunteers, and for us to continue our efforts we seek your donations. Every dollar donated helps us to achieve the goals we set for this year, and to fulfill our mission. Please remember that your donations help reduce the daily suffering of animals on the streets of Lebanon.
Another great and fun way to help us raise more donations is through the HSI Pet Photo Contest. Vote for Yareck, one of our rescues in 2006 and now adopted in Canada by a loving and caring family, giving him a second chance to life. Clickhere to vote for Yareck.
DONATE today and together we will save lives!
As always, thank you for your continuing support.
Sincerely,
The BETA Team
