BETA rescues stray and abused animals, while combating abusive pet shops and the illegal trade of wildlife, which is so often witnessed. This could not be done without our extended family that we rely on and treasure so much. To the volunteers, and animal lovers that give their time and effort we would like to thank you- we could not do what we do without you.

Since its inception in 2004, BETA has:

  • Founded Lebanon’s first no-kill shelter.
  • Has rescued and cared for over 4450 stray dogs and cats.
  • Succeeded in finding homes for over 2884 cats and dogs.
  • Spayed and neutered over 4682 dogs and cats.
  • Developed the first TNR program (Trap, Neuter and Return) in cooperation with municipalities.
  • Rescued primates such as Baboons and Vervets from appalling conditions and sent them to sanctuaries.
  • Rescued wild animals such as lions, foxes and birds of prey.
  • Spread awareness about animal welfare and responsible pet guardianship through its local campaigns.
  • Created and launched the website betalebanon.org.
  • Created the very active and informative BETA page on Facebook.
